About Max
I’m Max — a coach, athlete, and long-time lover of sports performance science.
For over a decade, I’ve worked with athletes across football, rowing, and cycling, helping them train smarter, push harder, and reach their goals. My approach goes beyond numbers and stopwatches; it’s about understanding the person behind the performance, and building a programme to best suit them.
I began my sporting journey as a rower, competing at the highest level of UK club rowing and once holding a British record on the erg (for a brief and glorious moment). Today, my focus is on cycling - particularly time trials.
Alongside my coaching, I’ve built a career in management consulting. Balancing high-performance sport with a demanding professional role has given me a real appreciation for what it takes to deliver in both the boardroom and on the bike. I understand the pressures of modern working life, and the discipline required to train effectively around it.
My coaching philosophy is grounded in experience, empathy, and evidence. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best, a podium finish, or simply greater structure in your training, I’ll help you perform at your best — in sport and beyond.
